I actually like the raw finish better. Part of the turning brown thing is because the clearcoat burns. If you use paint remover to remove the clearcoat when the pipe is new, it won't turn brown. Go over it wth steel wool occasionally. I think the unpainted unfinished look gives it a more purposeful appearance. A chrome or shiny finish makes it look like it's mostly for show. I hate vehicles that are all fixed up to look fast, but really aren't. Take a look at any pro race car, and you won't find fancy chrome or paint. Just my opinion. Peace. Jerry.
