the 65 cent challenge

so, I got off work, and almost immediately flipped to reserve. went to the gas station, and tried to fill up. my card was denied (fail!). reached in my pocket, found $.65, said fuck it, and put .15 gallons of gas in. Then jumped on the highway (the quickest way home) and gunned it. I hit ONE stoplight on my way home, and other than that, was going full throttle the whole time. made it 13.68 miles before I had to switch to reserve. None too shabby.

Re: the 65 cent challenge

almost a penny a mile, nice!

We should have categories

50CC

64CC/65CC

80CC.

I am always amazed how far I can get on reserve.

Re: the 65 cent challenge

hahaha lol. Great job getting home dude!

Re: the 65 cent challenge

highway is scary

Re: the 65 cent challenge

I need to clean out my fuel petcock this weekend - my reserve doesn't work.

Which, I have to say, is #*^&ing infuriating. The gas is RIGHT THERE, just spit it out you stupid machine!

Anyway, one time I dropped a super bounce ball in my tank to raise the gas level up above the top of the fuel inlet for the "normal" setting. That, and a bunch of shaking the bike around let me fill the float bowl and get home.

So, I didn't stop to buy the super bounce ball right then, but I'd still call that my 25 cent entry to the challenge.

Re: the 65 cent challenge

Mr. Richard Dickrich /

Fuzzy Math.

$.65/13.88 miles = approxiamtely $.05 a mile. 5 cents a mile is still pretty sweet.

Good to know you can go about 20 miles for a buck. That beats the bus.

Re: the 65 cent challenge

ooops... i was looking at the .15 gallons vs 13 miles. I guess that works out to a little less than 100mpg, not a penny a mile.

Re: the 65 cent challenge

Distance traveled from Seattle to Portland: Approximately 220 miles

Fuel Capacity of 2008 Tomos Sprint: 0.9 gallons

Number of fill ups: 2

Re: the 65 cent challenge

yeah, I have a UNIpod on my bike, and am hella upjetted accordingly, and was going WOT the whole way. Stock I was hitting a little over 110 a gallon.

Re: the 65 cent challenge

I just talked to my bank. $.36 over drawn. That's like 6 miles!

Re: the 65 cent challenge

yep, i have the unipod too and the biturbo.

Re: the 65 cent challenge

dude thats awesome zach ...nice job on getting shit done

Re: the 65 cent challenge

whatever guys i have like the UNI POd the biturbo and a flux capasitor!!! I go to the past on like one stick of plutonium!

Re: the 65 cent challenge

some old guy was asking about my express one time. i told him i went 120 miles on less than a tank one time. he REFUSED to believe me.

Re: the 65 cent challenge

if that is the case you could go back and get 65 cents of gas in like 1936 when it was like a nickel a gallon!

Re: the 65 cent challenge

tony, you're a stick of plutonium. see you in the pool fool.

Re: the 65 cent challenge

are you inviting me to your pool Ian?

Re: the 65 cent challenge
