the gas is nice though but its not why i got it i got it when gas prices were low

i ride my ped because in jersey, its the only thing thats street legal at fifteen until you turn 17 when u can get motorcylce and drivers lisences,
its a total bummer

Well i got one cuz i was tired of blowing money on the subway. Now i do it because its the most totally bad-ass fun thing to do.

i ride because it's convenient. parking is a bitch to find in chicago when going out. and the gas thing is a plus too.

The gas savings are nice, but I wind up spending the money on parts anyway. I ride them because they are a hobby, and they are fun, and they are kind of "reverse snobbery". I also have 2 old cars and a truck, I mean really old and ugly. That is part of their appeal. They are the total opposite of what almost everybody else has, and it's a lot of fun to drive them on a road covered with new plastic SUVs and luxury sedans that have almost as many electronics as the space shuttle. i ride em cuz its fun and in sf super convenient, if i don't have aped for even a day i feel so stranded.
in a small city like SF its really an individual empowering machine, even more so than a motorcycle, since it not only immune to traffic but also parking and fees.

Yes, I have almost become a fanatic gas saver with prices above $4. I was telling folks the only time my car comes out of the garage is to go to church on Sunday. Then I saw some other people rode their scooters to church, so last week I moped (past tense of mope : ) there, too.
I have to plan my grocery purchases more carefully, because I can only carry a little at a time.
