How much was it for you there if you don't mind me asking?

Re: Insurance On Mopeds

And who are you buying insurance from? Is it just your personal insurance or is it something else / extra for your moped, like car insurance?

Re: Insurance On Mopeds

As noted by another response, it depends on the state. In Washington State, the moped needs to be titled and licensed, and while you are not required to have motorcycle insurance, there are financial responsibility requirements, so if you're in an accident you need to be able to post a bond of somewhere near $60K. Since motorcycle insurance is relatively cheap, when I got my 1986 Honda Elite 150 scooter I purchased insurance ($100 for a year from esurance). Insurance is one of those things that comes in so handy when you need it most. The cost depends on factors such as the area where the moped is garaged, and how many miles you expect to put on it.

Re: Insurance On Mopeds

In New Jersey Insurance is the Law 74.00 for one year the ped must also have a title that you will pay about 20 to put it in your name. and the tag for a year is 15.00 you can title without insurence but you can't register and get a tag without insurence info. you dont need the insurence card just the policy info. The card will come in the mail. then you carry it with you. when you title transfer the will ask you what you paid and charge you 7% sales tax if bought in N.J.
