So, I can maybe get a job at a scooter shop.

I figured I'd post about it, for two reasons:

1.) It would represent a significant change in my life.

2.) I've been drinking.

Aaanywho...

There's a chance I can start working at Sportique scooters. Either as a fulltime employee, or as a 3day a week guy, while hopefully my cushy desk job keeps me floating.

It represents a -25% in my income. Not a huge problem, though I'll no longer be able to cover rent with a single paycheck. I really only have the expenses of rent, food, and maybe 150per month of debt on the bus/last rally.

But.. it's a scooter shop. Benifits include: Access to the polini catalogue. Tools. A real place to work on shit. Mostly free training. Cool people....

I guess the only downside is loosing a job that pays decently for no effort.

Seems like an easy choice when I put it like that...

Well I'd act like I wanted to buy a scooter from you... Well actually (my brother) I'd love to see you back in Denver Proper, taking low wages like the rest of us, but you'd get to be having fun.

Do it,

Do it,

Do it,

Actually, I'd be doing tuneups. And installing kits on people scooters...

Tempting!

Does your cushy desk job allow you access to the internet to keep up with the Moped Army? Just asking. Since I got laid off in April I can hardly spend any time here, I'm too busy to spend much time online.

Really, if I could work on scooters and pay my way it would be a no brainer.

Steve Williams /

never make your hobby your job,i've done it and it takes all the enjoyment out of it.

Re: So, I can maybe get a job at a scooter shop.

but they are scooters.

and what about the people who open up moped shops? and bike/sport shops? and tattoo parlours? and a million other things that are their hobbies?

Re: So, I can maybe get a job at a scooter shop.

Or do what you love and you'll never work another day in your life. . . .

All depends on how you look at it. . . .

Re: So, I can maybe get a job at a scooter shop.

Best of both worlds:

I work Monday, Friday, Saturday at the moving company. These are the days where I actually do things in the office there.

I work Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday at Sportique.

It looks like mainly they'll be training me to do tuneups, and to keep their full time mechanic on task.

The guys there are already into mopeds, and the owner wants to have a hand in selling them, if he can find some that he can sell (aparently tomos was going to give them a pretty lame deal, like 1600 dealer cost or something. I gota look into that).

Oh, and I get to use their shop after hours.. they encourage it aparently.
