Black goo coming from engine / exhaust

I know I just made a post moments ago, but that was a different subject.

Anyway, when looking at my rusty exhaust pipe, I noticed a black goo (obviously oil) coming from the point where the engine and exhaust meet. It's obviously been happening for a while, because there is evidence of some substance burned on (maybe the colorants?) and hardened, forming a sort of stalactite.

My question is, is that two-stroke oil like I think it is? or is it even remotely possible that it's transmission oil, like it appears to be (black and extremely thick)

Stupid question, doubtless, but there it is.

Re: Black goo coming from engine / exhaust

you are probably running a little rich if there is that much, or it could just be dirty from years of not being cleaned and burning cheap oil
