Re: I won't give up Harold

and while we're on the topic of back to the future, we can bring OZMA back into this because they have massive amounts of bttf references, such as:

"warp me back at 88" -in search of 1988-

"where i go i don't need roads" -game over-

the whole song lorraine is about marty's mom

"girl make a one man cry, make another man sing" -come home andrea- (references the huey lewis song from the first)

LMAO at the one before Adam. I had an idea last night. I saw the Beach Boys movie and read it in a couple books how Brian Wilson's dad was such an Ahole and thought he was responsible for the band's success. UNTIL one night they were recording and he starts going "Uh you're singing flat and turn up the bass a little". Then BW says "you know that control board you've been sitting at? It's been unplugged for the past 3 months."

Couldn't something be done like that here where 'somebody' can post away all they want and nobody will see them, yet their screen will show everything and even let them think people are talking to them? It's a riot, especially when it happens to me!

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Biff Tannen Museum, dedicated to Hill Valley's number one citizen, and America's greatest living folk hero, the one, the only, Biff Tannen. Of course, we've all heard the legend, but who is the man? Inside you will learn how Biff Tannen became one of the richest and most powerful men in America. Learn the amazing history of the Tannen family, starting with his great grandfather, Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen, the fastest gun in the west. See Biff's humble beginnings, and how a trip to the races on his 21st birthday made him a millionaire overnight. Share in the excitement of a fabulous winning streak that earned him the nickname, "The Luckiest Man On Earth". Learn how Biff parlayed that lucky winning streak into the vast empire named Biffco. Discover how in 1979 Biff successfully lobbied to legalise gambling, and turned Hill Valley's dilapidated Courthouse into a beautiful casino-hotel.

Biff: (on video) I just want to say one thing - God bless America.

Meet the women who shared in his passion as he searched for true love ...and relive Biff's happiest moment, as in 1973 he realised his life long dream by marrying his high school sweetheart, Lorraine Baines McFly.

Reporter: (v.o, on video) How do you feel Mr Tannen?

Biff: (on video) Third time's the charm.

a fitting quote, given the unmentionable circumstances:

What was the original Retail Price of the Nintendo Entertainment System? In 1984, what did a new one cost?

How about the games? How much was a game in 1984?

Re: I won't give up Harold

oh man I had a college roommate who had a meticulously maintained NES, I remember he had Super Mario Bros. 3 with the box and everthing. It blew my mind when I saw the price sticker: $60 canadian!

Re: I won't give up Harold

***Kim Jong Uno*** /

200 bucks for the standard bundle(1 controller and mario)

250 for the "deluxe" bundle (2 controllers, 1 zapper, mario/duck hunt

games were about 40 bucks at most

Re: I won't give up Harold

The deluxe bundle didn't come with Mario.

It came with the console, two controllers, a zapper, ROB the robot (controller for the game Gyromite), the gyromite setup (two gyroscopes, a thing that spun the gyros, a rack for the controller), and two games gyromite and duckhunt.

gyromite was weird, you didn't control the actual game, you controlled the robot, who made things happen on the game

Re: I won't give up Harold

yeah originally it came with Robot Operating Buddy, but that was only the early deluxe.

Nintendo made ROB and gyromite to avoid the stigma video games hadn't shaken after the crash of '83-'84. People thought video game were a dead fad, so Nintendo marketed the NES as a family use computer in Japan, and a toy in North America.

The packages:

Control Deck: console, two controllers, Super Mario Brothers

Deluxe Set: console, ROB, two controllers, zapper, Gyromite, Super Mario, Duck Hunt

in '88 both were replaced by the most popular package, the...

Action Set: console, two controllers, zapper, and the Mario/Duck Hunt multicart

and let's not forget the

Power Set: console, two controllers, zapper, power pad, and Mario/Duck Hunt/World Class Track Meet multicart

or:

Sports Set: console, two controllers, multitap adapter, and Super Spike Volleyball/Nintendo World Cup mulitcart

Challenge Set: console, two controllers, and Super Mario 3

and Nintedo invented the "Basic Set" which came with no games, but back in '87 a lot of stores didn't carry it because it seems shitty to sell an expensive console and not throw in a game. Well I guess it's still shitty, but back then i guess retailers actually cared, or consumers wouldn't stand for it.

Re: I won't give up Harold

Zizz = Zzzz....

Re: I won't give up Harold

maybe the public forum isn't the best place to be alone with someone. why did you make your name jizz? Don't you know what that is?

Patrick's response

Jazzy PreacherBob Targaped /

Patrick .. I went with Zizz, not Jizz .. and No, I don't know what Jizz izz. But I know what Jazz is. Is Jizz like Jazz, but rizzed up? (Rizzed up - like Rizzen, from Risen, as in, The Lord he is Risen).
