QT50 not running 350?

so im looking at taking a huge step in my moped career, buying a second moped!!! i really want a qt 50 and ive found one about 2 hrs away, only thing is the uy wants 400 for it, i have gotten him down to 350 but he says its not running, so i asked him to tell me a little bit about the ped to see if it is worth the trouble, he said its been in storage for about 10 months and that it starts on starting fluid...im thinking maybe this thing needs a good carb cleaning...what do you guys think... thanks!

Re: QT50 not running 350?

sounds pretty pricey for a bike that doesn't run, even if all it needs is a carb cleaning. Unless the rest of the bike is absolutely mint, I think you should look elsewhere.

Re: QT50 not running 350?

agreed, dont pay more than 200 for a non-running anything, ever

Re: QT50 not running 350?

The last QT I bought was running and cost me $100.00. Too much money dude.

Re: QT50 not running 350?

thanks guys!

Re: QT50 not running 350?

Mine didnt run, it was ALL THERE, needed a carb clean. Really good shape, NO RUST, for $175.

This was in Michigan. People need to realize they sold for 299 new, were made until 1985 and THEY WANT TOO MUCH! You cant go to the Dealer and get ALL the parts you want. (the Lead ban) You will have to ebay, CL and so on to find the correct and good parts. They are out there you just gotta look. Keep looking if you have to, patience is the key! Trust me!

Re: QT50 not running 350?

jake said it all. i picked up two puchs for about 130 both not running. no titles no bill of sale. one had a bad motor (so i think) the carb was all gummed up and the other motor was fine so i swapped the motor and what not. i like jumping my puch maxi s off ramps haha its mad fun

Re: QT50 not running 350?

I had no idea they were that cheap new, wow. I would pay 3-4 hundred for a nice complete one...they ae nice machines if not abused. Best of luck! p.s. tell the dude to quit running it on starting fluid, there is no oil in there!
