Anyone have one? Are they reliable? What's the engine / chassis copied from?

Re: Northern Tool moped

It's a Kinetic TFR. Not a bad moped.. most of the vespa performance part fit. They do vibrate a bit. So, locklite is your friend

Re: Northern Tool moped

Wow, $899, and free shipping. The Kinetic TFR is a close copy of a Vespa Ciao, and many Vespa parts will fit it. It's fit and finish are not up to Tomos standards, but it is a solid reliable moped, made in India by an unknown company, and imported into the U.S. by Cosmopolitan Motors. The one advertised will be an '05 model, as that was the last year they were imported into the U.S., because they couldn't pass EPA standards. The only thing I would be worried about is parts availability. Cosmopolitan Motors imported a huge number of these, knowing that '05 was the last year they would be available, and they are the only importer. I used to own one, and loved it, especially those highway pegs, that no other moped has, but, for only $100 more, you can get a Tomos Sprint, which is a much better moped, and you will never have to worry about getting parts, either stock, or aftermarket. I have an '08 Sprint, and with a carb upgrade kit, new exhaust, and a larger rear sprocket, will reach 43 mph. Peace. Jerry.

Re: Northern Tool moped

Thanks for the info! I figured it was a knockoff of something else.

You're right, the Tomos would be a better ped for the extra $100.
