like just from sitting outside?
or from riding?
Well there was that one time me and brendan frasier traveled to the center of the Earth, but other than that, what are you, in Texas?
no i am in new jersey and i was riding........out of no where my moped liek died and then reved back up. and did that repeatedlly then i went home and parked it for 2 hours and went for anther ride and it was fine.
it was only vapor lock. vapor lock. vapor lock.
L-ing O' L before the thread even loaded.
Gives me lock jaw thinking of it...
only an a ss396 chevelle. And ice cream cone on the fuel pump fixed it in seconds...yes, really.
dude the exact thing has been happening to me for the past 2 days and i had to leave my ped out at my school all alone in a thunderstorm :C and i live in new york i keep freaking out.
water in your gas
Super common with high temps. Shielding your carb from engine heat will help, as will pouring water over your carb when the problem occurs.
There was a vintage VW show/swap in Ypsi last weekend. Saw several old bugs on the side of the road with... you guessed it, vapor lock from the 90+ temps.
Happens on my Murray all the time. I don't think the gas cap is vented enough, it seems to build up a vacuum in the tank. Sometimes if it starts dying like that I can crack the gas cap open a bit and it will keep the gas flowing and the ped going.
that used to happen to my PC50 too. It would bog down with a full tank and run great on 3/4. I drilled a couple of tiny holes in the cap and it was solved.
humm so how can i fix this problem permentlly.....jsut vent my tank?
I think so, when my Jawa starts to pick up speed because it is running lean, I know I have to loosen my gas cap cause it isn't venting enough.
