dude, Emilie, like my Emilie, got you beat. Her bike broke, two weeks ago, when I was riding it. While I was pedaling it home, a pedal snapped off. I got the part that was broken (condenser), replaced it, then it blew again. We took it to Ptown, but Eric was out of town at a rally and the scooter guys refuse to work on mopeds. So it sat for a week, which really sucked because it meant she had to take cabs home from work ($16 x 5) as well as the busses ($1.75 times like 10 or something). So then Eric gets back, and fixes it, costing a cool $180, and that was a nice deal for the amount of work that got done, but the bike originally cost $300 and we've already spent an additional $300 on the fucking thing. So we're looking at an $800 bike or whatever. So she picks it up yesterday, rides to work, works all night, rides it home. Wakes up today, rides it about 15 blocks, then has to call a cab to pick her and the bike up and take it home, because the fucking thing broke again. I'm pretty sure it's just a fouled plug, as it's about 20 degrees warmer than it was last time I tuned it, and it was a little rich then, but fucking a, that thing's going in the goddamn river if I can't fix it REAL quick like. Oh, and we're talking about a 32 mph $800 moped. Boo.
Moral of the story: If you like RIDING mopeds, as opposed to WORKING ON or PAYING PEOPLE TO WORK ON mopeds, a new Tomos is the way to fucking go.
