Hi folks,
My ears are burning so I have dcided to log-in, register, and spill my guts for you.
Many of you have been hearing that Motor West is going belly up or some such thing. I am her to tell you what is really going on.
Special thanks to Cynthia Malinowski, and Dave for telling me that the internet word is that my business is dying.
I never wanted to have to bear my soul in such a way, but I think that all of you deserve an explanation.
I know that the Moped Army has become a force to be reckoned with and that-kicks ass. Motor West is a tiny little part of the whole moped scene. That said; I know that many of you look to us for help with your 1954-on MS 50's and even more for help with the Maxi line. I love and appreciate every one of you for that.
The truth is that after 17+ years of running M/W I am going through a classically bad divorce. I'm working less than my normal 50+ hours every week, and on top of that we are one person short in the office.
Please bear with us. I am trying to find a new inside sales person, and I am trying to get our website on faster dedicated server.
We are falling woefully behind on e-mail inquiries and phone messages. Our two active phone lines barely keep up with the load. Often both are busy for hours on end. I literally wear a headset and try to work and answer calls at the same time, but often I just jump from line to line.
This isn't some million-dollar business. My dedication to the Puch line comes from pure passion. It kills me to miss calls and e-mails, and it hurts M/W to miss orders. I can only ask that you have patience with me/us while this ugliness plays out. We will rise above this pettiness, and be stronger than ever. In all likelyhood it will be late October before this all goes into the history books. In the meantime I am looking to add one new person in the office to help with the load, and the site will speed up soon.
Thanks for your years of patronage, and support. Please don't think that we just don't care, but instead understand that we are a small business in a small industry, and right now we are experiencing our worst challenge yet.
Thanks for letting me vent/explain.
Regards-Matt (owner-Motor West, Inc.)
