Ok, Here's the deal i bought a moped for $5.00 yes 5 it needs about $57.50 worth of work now the kid that had it before painted the moped and covered the info plate. But he said it was a Commuter. My question was Is that a real bike? Is the company still around? Is there any websites?

RE: My moped
Post a picture and people can give you some more help. I've never heard of a Commuter, but there were many many moped manufacturers in the 1970s and early 80s. What kind of engine does it have? That info might also help.
RE: My moped
Does it look like this:

This is a photo of the Malaguti Commuter.
RE: My moped
yeah it looks like that but the gas tank is smaller, and the back shocks are different
Re: My moped
I have a '76 Columbia Commuter, it has a sachs engine on it, does your engine have any defining marks?
Re: My moped
Could you be more specific?
Re: My moped
does it have any sort of company name or serial number on it?
Re: My moped
It's a 83 or 85 Malaguti Commuter i don't have the info plate cause the kid i bought it from didn't like the yellow moped so he painted it black/green including the info plate
Re: My moped
Scrape the paint off the plate.
Re: My moped
