Dave,
I'm trying to remember all the details, but that's one that was made by the company that took over the famous Indian motorcycle name after they went downhill in the 1950's. If memory serves, that might have been made by Italjet under the Indian name.
Hope that helps!

Yeah! I have a green one! I'm also pretty stuck as far a sources for parts or anything, but I've got the email of a guy who runs a marine store in Ohio that sells all the manuals for them. He's reliable and pretty cheap.
Good luck as far as parts or service are concerned, I haven't been able to get anyone to even look at it. Maybe you'll have better luck wherever you are. If you find anything out, you should drop me a line, though. I'll repost with that guy's email and address and prices and whatnot in a sec, here...
Here's that manual stuff...
I have a 1982 Sales flyer(1 page), for 4.99, Owners Manual for 9.00 (4 pages)
and a Service Manual for 15.99 (50 pages), Postage is 1.50 each for Parcel

His email is Bobsmarinesale@aol.com. I just have the service manual that I got from him, and it's on nice heavy stock and bound nice and everything. He seems pretty straight-up and I got mine priority in just a few days. Mine's a '79 and the service manual had info on all the previous models as well as the 82.
Hope that helps!
Dave H:
If you use the "SEARCH" feature in the grey bar above a post, you'll get to all the info about Indian mopeds ever posted here.
Alot has been, so you should have no problem. Also see "Fred's Guide" under "RESOURCES" for the best to guide to getting it going. Unfortunately, it only covers 2 stroke engines, but alot of info still applies.
Jim
thanks pygmy. i might need a manual beause i think theres some parts missing. (ie; screw holes, brighter and cleaner areas where something was) does yours work? is it a weird little 4stroke too? whats it sound like and does it have power?
dave
Indian motorcycles were initially very small displacement contraptions that were more like mopeds than motorcycles of today. If common practices were followed the new company merely changed the name plate on the machine shop without stopping the presses. SO if thats true then your ped could have a miniature version of an old indian 4-banger motorcycle engine on it. Maybe just de-stroked or underbored? So look up some indian motorcycle engine schematics and see if anything looks familiar. Then its just a matter of finding the right motorcycle shop. um... and parts.. Maybe a lawnmower shop could help you too? Im sure that if your rings and moving parts are in order then the rest can be simulated by a competent machine shop or retrofit.
I got a decal or two for your ped if you want-send me your address and I'll send it.
I JUST BOUGHT A RUNNING 1978 INDIAN IN NEED OF PAINT, ETC. THEY PAINTED IT BLACK BUT, I SEE TURQUOISE SHOWING THROUGH. I WILL BE IN NEED OF DECALS, IF YOU HAVE ANY LEFT. EMAIL ME AT RALMIL@LYCOS.COM.
