Hey boys and girls,

Two of my local friends and I,are planning on a long ride in 2 or 3 weeks! So, we are inviting anyone out there to ride with us! The route we have planned is around 80 miles! (i know,80 miles is not a world record, and Don-O does 80 miles every day befor breakfast!)

But this ride will take in 2 States and you will see every type of road from long straight and level stretches to narrow winding curves through valleys and canyons. This ride will require us to cross the Ohio river twice. Once on a bridge and then by Ferry boat! (which only cost $2.00 per bike) We will pass through Historic Maysville Ky, and then up river to another historic old river town, Agusta KY. child hood home of George Cloony! And where the movie Centennial was filmed!

Augusta is where we will cross back to Ohio on the Ferry. We will only be on busy roads for short periods, 2 or 3 miles at the most!

Just in case anyone would have a major breakdown that can`t be fixed by the side of the road, help is just a phone call away. I will call my wife and she will jump in the Silverado and come to the rescue. I may even be able to provide a "fresh mount" so that rider could continue on the trip? I have any tool and a lot of parts back at the shop!

We are planning on leaving my house/shop at 9 or 10 am. This trip will take 4 or 5 hours? Depending on how many times we stop to look around or how many breakdowns we may have? Hopefully when we do arrive back at my house, my wife will have the bbq fired up and we will have some Hambergers, Hot Dogs, Potato Salad Baked beans etc>!! All on "IkesBikes" of course!!

If this sounds like something you may want to do, please join us! I know it will be a great time!!

I might consider it if my schedule allows for it.

My primary difficulty would be gettin the trike down there, but if any other michiganders are going that way with a truck, I suppose it's possible.

I'd ride it down, but my girl doesn't think that's a good idea.

Lemme know when ya have an exact date on this.

I am planning the ride for Saturday Aug. 24? I hope this date will be good for as many people as possible??

I would love for a big gang to show up for this!! I think it would be a great time??

Hmmm. Sounds VERY tempting... what are the laws in Ohio pertaining to scooters? Its a 50cc, so it may be unregulated?

The only problem I would run into would be the WV Panhandle going to Ohio...

In Ohio, Scooters without pedals no matter how many cc`s are considered motorcycles, but i think if you are legal in your home state you can ride through Ohio legally?

Are you thinking about riding the Metropolitan all the way here?? That would be a long haul!! But, go for it !!

Ike, won't most of the ride be in KY? Under 50cc with or without pedals is a moped. I've got it on my calender, looking forward to it.

Well actually it will be about 50/50! I am going to try to ride my Honda Shadow over the exact planned route just to see how many miles it will be. I won`t be riding the Shadow on the actual ride! That wouldn`t be any fun!!

Damn I would be ver intrested in going.. but ohio seems alittle far... I would love to go though.. maybe one day we can try anouther atlanta.. or a more central location for everyone...nashville tenn or something... I dunno.. hehe

I'd love to ride with you all.... and share hace some real moped community.

Duck,

That reminds me!! While i was visiting Tomos U.S.A. in Greenvilles SC, the sales manager asked me if i thought anyone would be interested in having some sort of moped gathering right there at the distribution center next year!! I asked if he was talking about having it there on the Tomos property! He said yes! But he is talking about next year. I think that would be a great idea! Especially if it was like an open house and we could tour the place!!Although it wouldn`t be quite as interesting as a tour of the factory where they actually build the bikes!

The people at Tomos are very nice and they do seem like they care about what the average mopeder thinks

That would be a great gathering! I'm in! If there is anything I can do let me know. There should be regional meets through the summer, meets build community.

I wouldn't mind at all, being rather fond of Tomos products myself, tho I prefer the older ones.

We will leave my house around 9:00 or 10:am on Saturday Aug.24! Hope you can make it?? I am looking forward to meeting all of you guys and gals that can make it??

Also, i am still planning on the Ohio to Florida trip next year!! But, we can discuss that later!! lol!!

herm... I would like to meet up in greenville with you guys and gals.. I wont be able to ride down there with you but could meet you all there.. will you be staying in town much... just turning around... site seeing .. touring the town and such..

comeing home the same day or what.. let me know.

im going just not sure when to be there or what to expect or how long it will last and such. I'd like to have a tour of greenville on mopeds and do dinner with everyone.

I am a little confused? Are you talking about coming up to Ohio for my ride on Aug. 24? The thing at Tomos will be next year if at all? I am not sure what you are talking about, but you are welcome to come to Ohio for my ride?

ah damn it.. I am getting two diffren't things all screwed up into one....

I'm sorry.. I gues sim ready for a meet i can make.. not just a "ride" don't get me wrong i wanna ride.... but i'd also like to meet up in a town more int eh middle of everyone...

damn.. I'd drive to ohio to ride a moped wiht you guys if i could.. but then i'd ahve to take 2 days off.. one to get there.. one to ride with you and one to get home.. lol..
