Is my moped valueble?

Brock Zurcher /

I have a 1979 Sachs P1 in near perfect shape. Everything is original except for the floorboard thingys, and the paint(redone). It is extremely clean, start first kick, and runs like a dream. Lately, I have heard a couple people say that Sachs mopeds are worth alot of money, and would like to know if mine is worth anything? I will be gratefull for any replies!

RE: Is my moped valueble?

Yes, your moped is worth quite a bit. But mainly, it's worth a lot because you love it and she treats you well, right? Other than that, it all depends on where you are when selling, who wants to buy it, and such.

BTW, your IP says bolivar in it. What's that about? Simon Bolivar is my greatest hero. I'm very curious.

My ISP is based in the city of Bolivar, Ohio

RE: Is my moped valueble?

If the bike is a collectors item you should be able to get quite a bit of money for it, it sounds like it's in pretty good shape and like it's as good as original.

I've got a 1974 Honda SS50. I invested over $2000 in it to completely restore the bike to it's former glory but because there are quite a lot of them around where I live I wouldn't get much more than $1000 for it. If I had a Honda ZB50 in the same condition I could get nearly $3000 for it, while this bike has the same engine as the SS50. It's really a question of what is in demand.

I was just curious. I'm not planning on selling it, but if it was worth anything I would store it and maybe get another one to ride all the time.

RE: What you are really peddlin'

Yes, don't sell it. But don't ride it in nasty weather, use another one instead. But ... it's so much fun to ride a classic! I still ride my royal blue Bianchi ... rock on !

Re: What you are really peddlin'

I'll tell you why cars are not on my priority list right now... I'm a student, and cash is hard to obtain and keep. Riding a moped makes sense to me, 'cause I'm not coughin' up my hard-to-get money to spend on car insurance and plates... and I don't want to drive a lemon that costs me lots to repair periodicaly.

Be true to yourself... it's better riding than walking, eh ?
