50cc at Bonneville

These are the class records for 50cc engines at the Bonneville Salt Flats

I believe the 121.7mph is also the World record...(notice the year !)

The class designations stand for such things as.....

stock motor, modified motor, stock frame, mod frame, streamlining, no streamlining, gasoline, other fuel, turbocharging, no turbo.....etc.

I'm thinking the 31mph one is either a stock Elite ?....or a mis-print.

The world speedrecord for 50cc bikes is 221 Km/h (about 134 Mph) on a Kreidler, but I don't know if the record was set at Bonneville.

RE: 50cc at Bonneville

Probably not because of Bonnevilles high altitude... (almost a mile above sea level).... it is easier to go faster if you are near sea level with the denser air (making more HP)... Bonnevilles claim to fame is the fact that you can run almost 5 miles in a straight flat line (in a year with good salt)... and there are not too many places in the world like that.
