oT stolen scooter.

007.jpg

1999 Hyosung sense, blue. MN mp plate # 20730mp Police report filed, stolen early today 6-17-22. Will be hard for anyone to make run if you don't know the right positions to have the wrong switches in. ;) Was covered and locked, they left the cover, took the lock or put it in a truck. $100.00 for info on it's location, going out to scout the area now, it's heavy and I would not want to push it very far... If seen slap a lock on it and pm me, thanks. Has bar end mirrors on it now. The clearly have not taste, they left my vintage peds! (edited)

Re: oT stolen scooter.

Sure hate to hear this … hope you find it still in good condition

Thanks, crime has been getting bad ever since the Floyd riots, we have had an influx of homeless around here, and they have been coming off the corners and wandering the area at night, but it could have been kids too, as I said they have a very poor chance of getting it to run based on some "custom" rewiring I had to do to get it running when I bought it.

Re: oT stolen scooter.

sorry for you loss but at least they stole the Chinese crap and not your peds'

Re: oT stolen scooter.

I hope you find it Stephen. Shit realy sucks.

Thanks, but it was a Korean model, bodywork was kind of cheap like a Tao or whatever, but it was a 2 stroke ripper, that was made when these still qualified for moped plates, would go 45, just got it dialed in last fall, and was really looking forward to enjoying it this summer. Beyond the point of stealing someone's stuff, I'm most angry that this will nine times of 10 just get dumped once the meth monsters can't get it going. The bike and the plate are on the hot sheet, so maybe it will turn up, not holding my breath though. Just returned from a scour of the neighborhood and no dice. FUCK JUNKIE THIEVES! If they do get it going I hope they crash it and put themselves in a chair for life. I'm SO pissed off, but there is really not a thing to do, I'm calling the vin and plate number to the biggest local tow companies and offering a finders fee, I'll offer the same to anyone who provides me info that leads to it's recovery, a nice clean C-note. I did post on MN moped riders facebook page as well.

Thanks man! On the up side, I have an excuse to look for a new bike.... :)

Re: oT stolen scooter.

oh I didn't realize Korean, I retract that portion of my original statement but reinforce that I am sorry for your loss.

It's ok, it has the look of the generic gy6 crap for sure, i was kind of hoping that would make it unattractive to people, it's not the monetary loss, it was just the perfect bike for all my needs....I'm getting away from mopeds as they are too small/slow. If you ever see one of these buy it and cut the blue wire off the cdi, they shred! They are rare and I will have a hell of a time finding another.

Game over, Bike recovered by the hopkins police! Left in a lot close to my apt, was not there when I drove by earlier! I'am so HAPPY!

Re: oT stolen scooter.

Happy ending the scooter was just now found by the Hopkins police! I just got her home, thanks for all the cares, she's mine again!

Re: oT stolen scooter.

Sounds like a good ending… glad you got it back

Re: oT stolen scooter.

Nice! Always nice to have a happy ending. Hopefully you don't end up having to pay impound and tow fees? That's nice cops that just called and let you come get it, usually they have it towed and impounded and rip you off for another 300+$ to add insult to injury

Re: oT stolen scooter.

Stephen Keller /

^ No towing/impound fees! it turned up a few blocks from my place, minor damage, nothing I can't fix, and it still runs! I got it started when I got it home and it smoked like a banshee, telling me someone had tried to make it run. I can't tell you all how happy I'am....the bike is not worth a lot of money, but it is worth a TON to me to have and use, if that makes any sense? Guess I have to go find a better/new lock, but that's ok. A lot of people rip on the cops, and I have been one, but my hat is off to the Hopkins pd, they were very professional, courteous and really seemed to care. The cop who found it had the pic of my bike on his phone that I had provided to the officer who took my report earlier in the day, said that really helped having it, so have pics of your bikes to provide to the police in case any of your bikes get ripped off. I had been through the lot where it was found earlier in the day and it was not there. One other thing I did was put the bike online listed as stolen and offered a reward, no one tried to claim it, but maybe the thief saw it? Whatever, I have my bike back! In the era of 4.79 gas it's a real blessing. I have also developed a real, honest respect for my local pd. The big takeaway is this, your neighborhood has eyes and ears, someone knew I was pissed as f about this gone and did not want to deal with me if found with it, but you HAVE to put the word out you are out after your property, I did and I have it back. Thank you to all who cared and listened, to any who live near me if this ever happens to you let me know and I will be out pounding the pavement to hopefully get you the same result.

Thanks man, I'am still all smiles... never thought I would see it again.

Re: oT stolen scooter.

Curious did you just have a wheel lock or was it locked to a stationary object? I may have missed that part.

Awesome you got it back! (edited)

Had a u-lock through the rear wheel, it had to have been cut off, it was not left on the ground. There is nothing real solid to lock it to where I park, but it was under floodlights, covered and right outside my window, as all my bikes have been for yrs, they made no attempt to steal my Hobbit.

Sorry about the loss of your non pedal scooter but you should not be stereotyping homeless and/or kids, you have no idea who took it, it could have been anyone. (edited)

Re: oT stolen scooter.

Stephen Keller /

^ and you should not be telling me what I know about the neighborhood I have lived in for 20 odd yrs, you are entitled to your opinion, but I damn sure don't share it, The good news is it's been recovered, the morons abandoned it in a bank parking lot of all places, gee no camera's there, the cops who found it said they were going to see if they could get the footage from the bank, not sure if they will bother?
