^ No towing/impound fees! it turned up a few blocks from my place, minor damage, nothing I can't fix, and it still runs! I got it started when I got it home and it smoked like a banshee, telling me someone had tried to make it run. I can't tell you all how happy I'am....the bike is not worth a lot of money, but it is worth a TON to me to have and use, if that makes any sense? Guess I have to go find a better/new lock, but that's ok. A lot of people rip on the cops, and I have been one, but my hat is off to the Hopkins pd, they were very professional, courteous and really seemed to care. The cop who found it had the pic of my bike on his phone that I had provided to the officer who took my report earlier in the day, said that really helped having it, so have pics of your bikes to provide to the police in case any of your bikes get ripped off. I had been through the lot where it was found earlier in the day and it was not there. One other thing I did was put the bike online listed as stolen and offered a reward, no one tried to claim it, but maybe the thief saw it? Whatever, I have my bike back! In the era of 4.79 gas it's a real blessing. I have also developed a real, honest respect for my local pd. The big takeaway is this, your neighborhood has eyes and ears, someone knew I was pissed as f about this gone and did not want to deal with me if found with it, but you HAVE to put the word out you are out after your property, I did and I have it back. Thank you to all who cared and listened, to any who live near me if this ever happens to you let me know and I will be out pounding the pavement to hopefully get you the same result.
