Thanks PD and Ron. My next step is tuning. I have a new 60cc kit, MLM next level stock pipe and stock clone carb. Float height is set per the manual, needle is in the middle notch and the idle jet is a 20. These are my results so far:
82 main jet - top speed 25 gps, at top end seemed to be running out of fuel or missing, or something?
110 main jet - total dog with any throttle setting, lots of smoke, 4-stroking?, top speed maybe 10
90 main jet - top speed 27 gps, pulls well at 3/4 throttle and below but completely falls on it's face with WOT at any speed. It feels like it is missing or possibly 4-stroking. WOT gives top speed of 22, gets faster and smooths out when I roll off a bit.
I sprayed all over the place with carb cleaner looking for air leaks and can't find any. I haven't checked the timing but it has a CDI so I'm not sure how important that is.
I'm going to take the foam element out of the air cleaner and see if that changes anything. If it gets better I will go leaner on the main.
I'm not sure how to decide if I need to move the needle up/richer or down/leaner or leave it alone. Does anyone have any advice on this?
