Better snatch 'em up while you can!

Treats has jacked up the price on these little guys from $40 each a few weeks ago to $60 then yesterday it shot up to $100!!! If you have a Puch, Batavus, Sachs or Kreidler and need a shiny brand spanking new 40+ year old OG VDO speedometer with zero miles and a perfectly flat bright red needle (that hasn't warped upwards yet from being left out in the sun) then jump on this shit right fucking now. They only have a few left and this might be the very last time Treats has NOS 40 mph VDO speedometers in stock

Re: Better snatch 'em up while you can!

$100 is kind of crazy for a Speedo

Re: Better snatch 'em up while you can!

Who uses the speedo, just ride wot all the time? It's never fast enough..lol, only reason I like to keep 'em is for the odometer.

All a ripper needs is a temp gauge, fucka speedo

I finally got ahold of one of these from them yesterday in the mail. This thing looks like 1978 was yesterday. Even the glass on this thing has no scratches and looks transparent. The needle on this is red and has a very small slight bend at the tip but it actually matches the curved edge of the face plate and the end of the pointer is clearly well below the inside of the glass

30-40 mph Puch speedos are still very common, I bought several over the years,

I never paid much more than 20-25 bucks for a new one. I did pay 35$ and shipping for a brand new 40mph speedo but it came with the whole complete plastic holder and bracket, light holder and bulb .

I just bought a NOS 40 mph speedo W/chrome ring, light holder and bulb two weeks ago for 25 shipped too.

I have no problem fixing bent needles anyway

I guess if someone pays $1500 for a 1HP Maxi they don’t mind paying 100$ for a 40mph speedo

I run a trailtech temp gauge on mine theres no way to turn it off tho (no on/off switch)

Actually it cost me $1400 for this bike (yeah thats alot in Ohio for a then-stock 1hp Puch Newport)

^^^If Ken's still getting them new for $25 shipped I want to know what site is he getting them from that cheap?

Right?

Re: Better snatch 'em up while you can!

I wouldn't have paid the $40 for one. I have too many puch speedos already.

Re: Better snatch 'em up while you can!

Who uses those ?dang

Like Stephen Keller pointed out I'm only using it for the odometer to estimate fuel consumption and for general maintenance intervals based on mileage. I never even look at where the needle points at because as stated before its just mopeds and I'm mostly either at a full stop (like at a light) or full throttle (edited)

Y'all are using the speedo to calculate mileage and plot service intervals? Wild.

Stuff like repacking/regreasing wheel bearings, changing gearbox oil, lubing cables, replacing piston rings on a kit, approximating how much fuel left in tank...those kind of mileage intervals. I have my phone gps speed app to see my actual speed if I want to ride above 35 mph or so for extended periods

Re: Better snatch 'em up while you can!

Yeah, I don't do any of that for mopeds.

Re: Better snatch 'em up while you can!

60mph vdo!!!

Adds 4mph ttooooo

What are these general maintenance intervals you speak of? Ride it till it breaks!!!!
