I occasionally go by a used car dealership in a small town close to me.
He has an outdoor lot and across the street he has an old dealership building where he has some of his vintage cars stored.
I happened to get stopped at the light by the old dealership building and glanced over at the showroom to see what he had on display this week.
Peeking out from a wall into the big window was the front half of a Moped.
The engine looked very much line my 1978 Puch Maxi Luxe.
The light changed and I had to move on but decided to stop on the way home and take a look at it.
It's a silver Murray Puch.
Just for kicks I walked over to the lot office to inquire about it.
The lot owner wasn't there but one of his employees had some paperwork on it.
It's a 1978 that has 1 mile on the odometer.
According to the employee his boss bought it from a guy who had worked at the Murry facility who had "acquired" it new and never rode it.
The asking price is $1,500.
After I showed him a picture of my Maxi Luxe on my phone the employee asked if I wanted to go over and take a look at it.
I told him not at $1,500 and he asked at what price I might be interested.
I told him that I had to do some research.
As I mentioned in my original Maxi Luxe post it was given to me.
The dealer is pretty well off.
He has a decent size lot with no junk and then several nice old vintage cars in the one building that I know of.
I'm more curious as to what a realistic value is than actually buying it, especially at $1,500.
What think ye?
