Honda mb5

I recently purchased a honda mb5 with 3000 miles. It had 90 psi of compression so I bought this https://www.treatland.tv/honda-MB5-IMPORT-39mm-50cc-cylinder-kit-p/honda-MB5-IMPORT-39mm-kit.htm?gclid=Cj0KCQjwtrSLBhCLARIsACh6RmhXApasttOj_AknbMK3XpnbtlDJnbbHXkTT8uLg8b_3plM5eoJX_nYaAswsEALw_wcB.With all new gaskets.I assembled it and I am getting 75 psi of compression now i am assuming there is a leak somewhere so i took it apart again and i found this damage on the cases .im not sure what it was caused by or if it was there before installing the new kit.

Does anyone know what may have caused this damage and if i can still run the motor like this.

Thank you

Re: Honda mb5

I don't see the damage you're talking about. Compression happens from the piston rings up once the rings pass the top of the exhaust port.

Re: Honda mb5

Your case might of need to be bored slightly or moded to fit the cylinder sleeve

Re: Honda mb5

I was referring to these ridges

That^ .

Even if those ridges were damage , they would not effect compression .

Re: Honda mb5

what do you think may have caused those ridges

There's nothing wrong with your cases, they are fine. Those ridges are most likely just poor mill marks.

My guess is just assembly error/missed steps.
