1982 Honda hobbit no spark

I have a 1982 hobbit with no spark I got it for free and don’t need lights blinkers anything really just want to play with it a little and want minimal wiring I already connected the two red and black wires to bypass the battery still no spark what do I need to bypass or what can I get rid of for minimal wiring the harness is all cut up from the previous owner and a lot is missing but i just want it to run please help if you have any advice I’m having a hard time trying to figure out what is going on anything is appreciated thank you

This one has a jumper wire so it has to have one kinda stupid in my opinion

So I got the spark figured out but does anyone know how to start this thing the clutch is kinda weird and the belt seems loose is it normal for the belt to be loose?

You shouldn't really need to use the decompression lever, you just pedal like a madman until the motor kicks on. Loose belt can cause the belt to slip which is no good. If you want to use the decompression lever, hold it until the motor starts to spin and then let go of it while still pedalling

Check to make sure the lever on the rear wheel is set to motor mode and not pedal mode

Ok I got the motor in carb on wiring figured out etc do I need to switch it from petal to motor as I’m moving?

No, just make sure you're in motor mode.

I got it to fire on starting fluid but can’t get it to keep running any suggestions I already cleaned the carb

Clean the carb , again . Be sure the idle passages are rpistine .

Even the most experienced professionals have to clean carbs more than once .

Ok I cleaned the carb again still the same should i just buy a cheap carb?

I put it through the ultrasonic cleaner twice and cleaned it as good as I could

Ultrasonic is great for cleaning pennies .

It doesn't always do so good on/in tiny carb passages .

Spray brake cleaner through every passage . Make sure the spray is coming out where it's suppose to . Follow the cleaner with compressed air .

If your plug is dry after attempting to start w clean carb, choke on, fuel bowl full, then you most likely need new crank seals. Finding the clutch puller is the hardest part 26x1.5
