Took the bendix and gear off, cleaned and regreased, removed the rust from the gear. Those all look fine. Removed the starter and took it apart. Cleaned it up with a wire brush and it looks good. Put everything back together, but left the belt undone. Cranked it over and same thing, bendix connects with the gear but doesn’t turn over fast enough.
