Figured someone on this board might have fixed up a Honda Spree. Not getting much luck on other non moped boards.
Picked up an 85 50cc Spree over the weekend… non-running condition.
Took the carb off and cleaned thoroughly, removed the reed valve and seat and noticed the engine case is full of gas. Checked the reeds and they seem good. So clearly there’s a fuel issue. This thing has a vacuum petcock so I applied negative pressure on the line and very little gas came out. However it does have a slow drip about every five seconds which is where I think the excess fuel is coming from and flooding the engine. Ordered a new petcock so hoping that resolves the excess fuel issue.
Is there a good way to clear all that old gas out of the engine? Maybe crank it over with the plug out and hope it comes out..
