Mystery engine ID?

Ok I’ve searched a bit but really can’t find any leads on what the frig this neat little dual variated motor is or what it was originally mounted on. No markings to be found, haven’t pulled the top end yet to check porting or check stroke but I’ll get to it. Got a lot of people stumped so let’s see if anyone here knows?! Funky clutch too check it out, just a sprung friction ring thingy with a stop on the bell to keep it in place:

Agreed, that's a lovely little engine, I'd like to know what it is

Re: Mystery engine ID?

Fit and finish looks like it's one of the Taiwan 80s brands like daelim, sym, angel, something like that. Or maybe India but they don't get as weird with design, usually they are more euro copy stuff like the hero puch, vespa clone stuff, etc.

Ankur made some weird shit too, I dunno, that's a weird one. You can see from the carb mounting that it was laid down in the frame horizontal almost like a kids 4 wheeler or something.
