Re: Trying to re-connect with the community.

Even though I won't be able to ride because of my recent shoulder replacement surgery, the wife and I will be driving to the rally on Saturday the 6th. Just look for our orange Honda Element. We won't be riding our Vespas on Saturday, but we'll certainly be attending all the events. (edited)

Re: Trying to re-connect with the community.

Yeah, I've met some people from 7 hills more than once in Richmond. They're cool. Washington, meh, isn't really moped-friendly. To get anywhere you have to hit the main road that's 55mph, and I'm pretty sure that no one would be into them around here. It's too country. That's why I'm throwing around the idea of going somewhere where moped people are at, and maybe Richmond again.

Yeah, it's been a rough couple of years, and it kind of rubbed people the wrong way, but I'm sober now(did de-tox) and trying to fix old relationships and mend broken ones in the community. Everyone gave a lot, and did a lot, I just didn't keep up my end and give back when I could and should have. I guess, when people saw I had problems(like my aspergers and bad social anxiety) people went out of their way to make me feel welcome and wanted. There's been some bridges burned, and connections gone, but I feel like in time and showing that I've changed as a person, I may get a second chance.

Glad to hear you seem to be in a better place. 👍

Re: Trying to re-connect with the community.

You might be better off relocating to an area outside of downtown RVA. I live in Powhatan county, which is 45 minutes west of downtown RVA. I ride into RVA for 7 Hills Scooter club rides/events, but I seldom go to Richmond for any other reason. There’s plenty to do here in Powhatan and Midlothian.

If you do decide to come to the Indian Summer Rally, be sure to stop by and say hello. Any of the moped folks know who I am. (edited)

Hummm may be into doing a day trip to that scooter rally. It always looks like a lot of fun.

Re: Trying to re-connect with the community.

Cool, I'll see y'all there.

You can't change the past, man, but you can show people you're cool through your actions.

Have fun and be safe!

Re: Trying to re-connect with the community.

Yep >>> forget the past as if it never happened and live for today ...there are new friends to make and old friends to reunite with without bringing up the past..it should remain forgotten..
