Thx... that might be my favorite setup among all my race bikes.

Clean, simple and 90's moped look.

Bidalot RS MBK/Peugeot fake tank/seat fairing + 90's Gr2 & stockish 50cc front fairing.

Re: 77cc VARIATED MOBY IT'S HAPPENING

Do they ship to the states? I really need that smoked mbk 51v cf g2 windscreen to get me motivated enough to finish my rcx.

Re: 77cc VARIATED MOBY IT'S HAPPENING

Christophe Naulet /

Last time I ordered was years ago... but they do ship to the US.

They're specialized in bicycle equipment now and don't sell much stuff for mopeds anymore other than fairings.

They may not have everything in stock and it might take a while, but if it's still listed on their site they still make it.

The modified Doppler pipe is done... feels good.

Next on the list, set the PVL ignition timing, connect all the wiring, install the carburetor throttle cable, finish the plumbing, service the rear brake, re install the drive chain, fill it up the tank with 98 leaded fuel and fire the beast.

Getting close...

Re: 77cc VARIATED MOBY IT'S HAPPENING

Today I set the ignition timing and fired the bike with the old leaded 98 gas that's been sitting in the tank since the last race in 2017.

There's something about that race track smell :)

It's not the Stage6 PVL digital advanced timing stator and HT coil... don't be fooled by the red anodized adapter :)

I swapped it with a Motobecane PVL analog fixed advance.

Re: 77cc VARIATED MOBY IT'S HAPPENING

This is the very first start.

The carburetor is not tuned of course, and the plumbing not hooked up. But I had to hear it :)

The leaded 98 gas has been sitting in the tank since 2017, the last time the bike was at the track.

Hope the link works.

Here's a video of the very first test run just to feel the beast once I finished hooking up the plumbing.

Nothing is tuned yet, carb, variator or engine spring but the modified MBK Doppler pipe feels pretty good.

I wish I would have built it 5 years ago and pushed it at the track... I'm too old now, my joints hurt and I can't afford to crash being self employed :)

But some fast rider's gonna enjoy it... or not... might too much power to handle on a moped frame LOL

Re: 77cc VARIATED MOBY IT'S HAPPENING

this is too fucking cool! Looks scary fast

Re: 77cc VARIATED MOBY IT'S HAPPENING

Christophe Naulet /

I haven't had much time to work on the project since the very first test run.

I still need to fine tune the carb but I did a quick variator and engine spring tuning session today. The power and torque is now fully available and it's scary :) ... the front end wants to lift so bad.

Five years ago our rider Ryan wasn't a big fan of the steering dampener and removed it with the Polini 50cc setup, but tioday it might be a different story and we may have to reinstall it for whoever's gonna race that beast, personally I wouldn't ride it without it, just saying...

I'm way too busy to find the time to tune the bike til it's 100% perfect but I'll get it track ready for October. I'm more concerned about reliability throughout the whole weekend.

Before the event, I still plan on tearing up the world famous Hollywood Blvd wide open throttle, on slicks... should be epic! Gotta do it, check it off the list... :)

Leaded 100 racing fuel you already know... October 22-23, 2021 at the Apple Valley Speedway for the SoCal motorized bicycle race event... we're getting ready!

Re: 77cc VARIATED MOBY IT'S HAPPENING

Where you at on this one Christophe? You got it ready to race?! :)

Re: 77cc VARIATED MOBY IT'S HAPPENING

Christophe Naulet /

Nothing really since the 2nd test run. I've been too busy with customers repairs. But at least I bled the front disc brake after 5 years of sitting in my basement.

The Dell'orto carb bogs a little. The idle jet is stuck in there and I don't have any extra jets anyway :)

But ya it's plenty fast, ready to compete and only wants to wheelie :)

I've heard you're coming down with an army of mobys powered by some fancy Bidaloni french variated high tech stuff. Or some secret BOOFT moped enhancer prototype parts. Is that true?

Re: 77cc VARIATED MOBY IT'S HAPPENING

Christophe Naulet /

Here's a quick update.

I fabricated a heavy duty launch lever linkage, they do brake sometimes.

She's ready to tear up the track!
