One more quick ride, and my toes are thoroughly froze.

Yeah had a chappy for awhile and used it as a mini bike. Thing got the shit kicked out of it. Sold it to a friend and they were taking motocross style jumps with it and held up fine. Super rugged

Re: Who else here has PMS?

Chappy is different than the Champ, but both like all Yamaha offerings in this segment, very well built.

Very similar twin tube frame. I imagine Chappys are a riot. One day maybe 😴

Re: Who else here has PMS?

50cc Chappy is slow as fuck, but fun to ride, pedals fold up to make pegs, would make a great campground bike.

Re: Who else here has PMS?

i rode my moped today.

PXL_20210124_205931259.MP.jpg

took me about 20 minutes to get it started. spark plug fouled. carb needs tuning. liquid black carbon seeping from under the head.

the new MLM cali pipe works really well on my setup, rips up the steep hills in my neighborhood. waaay better than a techno boss pipe. (edited)

There's no reason to kit the Chappy motor when you can bolt a PW80 motor onto the frame.

Re: Who else here has PMS?

It's still in pieces in the shed, thought I was going to get that rebuild done quick. I was wrong on that one. Even after I get the engine rebuilt, there's still shit I need to get like forks and tires.

Oooh, that’d be a fun option for Champ🤔

I use a pump sprayer with soapy water to spray clean the undersides after a winter ride. Easier than dealing with a hose. Havent noticed any salt damage.

I was actually thinking about something like that, just dish soap or what? I am doing a little commercial snow removal this winter and my snowblower gets all salty riding around in the back of my truck, wanted to spray it off somehow

Re: Who else here has PMS?

Not sure if this would work but for a while they made little steam generators for home cleaning, hand held things, never saw one in person...but that might be good if they were powerful enough?

That's a good idea too, I've been looking for one at goodwill for years, haha. Actually... We do have a pretty badass wallpaper steamer that my wife bought and used twice, hmmmmmm

I was thinking of this option for window tint removal, haven’t tried yet. Shitty tint sux, all scratched up and purple.

I got a car full of windows like this. It even crinkles in the wind when I drive with the windows down. Let me know if the steamer works for you.

Yayyy! More vintage snow content!

I like the enticer!

I use car wash soap. A gallon jug is like 5.00 at walmart, and the sprayers are 8.00.

That's a cool old '80 440 Exciter owned by another mopeder on MI trails a couple of weeks ago.

Hmm , not much snow there these days ?

Back in my snowmobile days it was commonly knee deep or close to it .

Snow's been pretty sketchy last few years, but even a rough day outside and on the trails beats sitting inside. Lake MI is a cloud and snow machine so sometimes we'll get enough while WI and IL get nothing

I about Lake Michigan , as I spent about 57 years living in the Grand Rapids area .

And , yeah , outside ... ;)
