Working on a Batavus with the Laura M56 engine, and I need to remove the ratchet wheel. The manual says I need special tool 565005. I’ve tried to search for one online, but no luck. Do you have any thoughts as to how to proceed for removal?
weird, so the sprocket screws onto the ratchet wheel?
I have a pretty complete m56 id sell for 120 shipped if your interested.
Looks like the chain could hold it whilst you turn it it looks like it just holds the sprocket so you can loosen a nut or bolt.
I was able to disassemble, however, the method I used probably wasn't the best option.
1. Clamped vice grips on the ratchet wheel (perpendicular)
2. Clamped the vice grips in a vice so that the ratchet wheel would not spin
3. Rapped the chain around the sprocket and used a wrench to unthread the sprocket from the ratchet wheel.
I needed to use a cheater bar to provide enough force, but it eventually came off. No damage.
Whatever works .
It's just mopeds . ;)
yeah, necessity is the mother if all creation. good job, post a coupla picts for future reference. and details ccw or clock wise etc
