Here are pictures of how I cut out my side cover to accept a new air filter.
Looks Great and runs a lot better with the new filter and a #70 up jet. (edited)

What did you use to cut it with? I used a dremel on mine and it did not look nearly as neat as yours.

Used a razer knife and cut it from the back with it laying on hard foam board.

Been preaching this stuff for years,
Glad to see someone else finally doing it, it’s not hard
But it’s easier if you heat up the back side of the cover with torch, heat gun or lighter first

Roffman, I see you have used several different exhaust systems. Which one do you prefer for a stock E 50 Puch considering that I do not want it any louder ?

I like a little louder, Its safer if traffic and pedestrians know your there. Your bike is louder now that you got rid of that junk air box and white resonator tube anyway
2stroke engines need expansion chamber to make any kind of power so get any one that has a chamber, I like estoril best but mounting on maxi the pedal and shaft are in the way and you have to bend them, circuit is easiest but it is loud, it’s nothin like a Harley though
