Puch E50 case prep for new build

Getting ready for a new engine build and thinking of what I may have forgotten. Case has been cleaned inside and out, wire brushed till its shining, ran a tap thru all threaded holes. Filed all sharp edges, cleaned all taped hole with WD40 and compressed air. This is just prep for case only and before I start the mods. Did I forget anything?

Thank You Much.

Jeff,

Is this a question or just you showing off 😉

Sounds like a proper job.

I did a case match at this point on my last engine. Felt like it made that much easier and I had the piece of mind knowing no contamination got into the bottom end.

Put in studs and and bolt case together with a piece of paper between halves. Put gasket and cylinder on. Mark paper gasket for perfect match to transfers. Cut gasket. Put them back on, center it all up, mark case. Take that all apart and open case transfers. You won’t get into the case bolt holes or anything on accident.

It was a first for me, I really liked it.

It's a question, I dont want to forget something small and have it turn into something big then open it back up to repair damage. thats why i ask first.

Probably Fred /

Make sure you don’t get the semi dryIng sealer in the oil hole for the bearing when you put the case halves together

I’ve seen that mistake several times, oozing from too much blocks oil hole in case on mag side the bearing goes away real quick

Shim your clutch before you close it up!

The engine I’ve got right now had a lip or ridge from casting around that oil hole. I’m assuming when you said you filed sharp edges, you would have got that as well. It’s something else to look for. Pretty simple engine. Not a whole lot else you could do or have to worry about.
