Actually in person they don't look that bad except for the stupid small wheel in the back and the 17 inch in the front.That is why I think the Hobbit swap would be cool because it would have a 17 inch wheel in the rear also.As far as the wrong subculture goes.You realize the only people that don't laugh at us about our mopeds are the ones that ride them ,and 90 percent of the general public don't ride them (edited)

You should totally do it. I just grafted a Malossi kitted hobbit engine into a child’s four wheeler and it’s hilariously awful. Hobbit engine swaps are really fun

Wow ,that four wheeler is amazing .If I ever find one of those tao tao racers for really cheap I will do it.Maybe one will break down ,and I can get it for cheap.I think they are like $1,500.00 brand new so maybe in a year or two they will start breaking down and popping up for sale cheap.

I've seen one of these in the wild. there's a store that sells taotao bikes in town and I saw guy riding one that wouldn't go over 20mph. he kept doing laps while I was taking my lunch break. very entertaining

Jay, the thing about the quad is you want to ride it but it doesn't want to be ridden. It wants you to be on the ground, bleeding and burned. I kinda think of it like in a science fiction movie when some scientists are trying to play god and animate some inanimate object and they end up creating some horrible sentient blob that immediately begs for death. Chances are they took one of their 125/150cc motorcycle frames and modified them(to a degree or none) to fit a gy6 drivetrain on them. There isn't a chinese clone of say a Scarabeo that I know of... gy6 bikes all have 10" or 13" wheels.

I've noticed a number of their small gas motorcycles and electric motorcycles are basically the same thing with different engines.

Buddy of mine worked at the local Chinese scooter shop for a few years. I was all about doing a Minarelli scooter swap into one of those. He showed me the half dozen they had in the back room pile with cracked frames. Apparently they like breaking at the headset.

Now I have an MB5 so my dumb 50cc motorcycle thirst has been quenched.

Good maybe I can find one for cheap then.I mean depending on how bad the breaks are .I mean you would have to do some welding on it anyway for motor mount at least.
