I found out last night that my Grande came with pedal arms with two different size threadings on them. One side was the standard 9/16" crank size, and the other was 1/2" BMX size. I've never seen the 1/2 size before!
Did those come standard on any bikes? I'd really love to find another one (left side) so I can run these incredibly ugly Primo BMX pedals I have kicking around

I could do a lot of things, but I WANT to use 1/2 so I can use these dumbo pedals.
If I didn't want to use the pedals I'd just buy new crank arms and be done with it

There are two pedal crank arms on this bike. One is 9/16, one is 1/2. I'd like another 1/2 sized one so they match, but all I can find is 9/16.

Schwinn made cotter pin stuff back in the day. Not sure if that helps
Are you sure the 1/2" pedal arm isn't actually a derbi 14mm pedal arm? 14mm is about .55". If not, I have no clue sorry big dog.
^ That would make sense. Cotter pin pedal arms were not that big in vintage BMX they would have been really heavy if it was. Most cheap pedal cranks were 1 piece for BMX in the 80s
Rather than swapping the pedal arms, I would suggest swapping the pedal axles, so you can keep the arms, but swap out the one pedal that is 1/2 to a 9/16 axle. I've done this before for swapping BMX pedals to work on mountain bikes. If you can't find any 9/16 pedals you want to extract the axle out of, or can't get anything on the internet, I've got a couple axles kicking around, prextracted. But do measure the length of the axle before you buy

I mean you can kinda run any cotterpin cranks, as long as theres enough offset to clear evry thing. I gotta a buncha pedal taps you can use if you wanna drill and tap to 9/16" - i'll just mail it to ya
I got a box of cotter pin pedal arms from the bicycle Recyclery in town. They are all straight so I usually have to bend them.
Yea, I mostly use old bicycle ones to weld the cut-off round end to moped ones for extra offset and pedal clearance.

I thought most bicycle cotter pin pedal arms are 1/2? I could be way off?
What about a helicoil to make it half inch?
I had a set of stripped moped arm that someone put the left pedal in the right arm and the right pedal in the left arm, I cut that section off and welded the threaded pedal end from a 1 piece bmx crank to use a set of 1/2” bmx pedals I had.
