Led bulbs for standard head light sockets

I grabbed a bulb for my headlight. While it is quite bright, it lacks a good cone of light in front for visibility of the road. I picked a bulb that has forward facing diodes but I guess without some lense in front to direct the beams it is not working very well.

Has anyone had any good luck with the standard bulb LEDs? I would prefer to go this route first rather than trying to swap out an actual LED head lamp unit.

I don’t know what bike you talking about but they do make LED bulbs that may work for a while with stock setups,

But if you get a headlight bulb that has the filament more focused in the middle then you’ll have a nice cone of light but if the filament is crooked/bulb made crooked the light that comes out is wide and dim, it’s like night and day,

I have a similar problem with my revival headlight since there is two filaments in the bulb neither one is perfectly in the middle,

Run the regular headlight and it’s wide and shines low and one side, click on the brights and it’s wide and it shines to the other side! I tried out 3 bulbs three and this is the best of the three, the other two were worse So stupid!

Yes this one has at least 4 LED diodes on the front along with a bunch around the side of it to get the reflection off the headlight frame.

I am using this in a bullet headlight housing. It is the standard puch lense and light bulb base. 1156 I believe.

Try super bright LED's they have many different bulbs and they show dimensional drawings for each bulb.

Good call I have gotten that brand before for my car. I will see what they offer.

Yeah I tried a pretty fancy one on my drrtbike and it lasted about 10 minutes, even though I have a volt reg and battery, I think some of them are really touchy about dirty power? I dunno. The par36 replacement seems to be the way to go.

Some are so cheaply made that the chinese won't admit to making them. Stay away from ebay and amazon for them.
