Two stroke oil gas separating

Has anyone ever seen two stroke oil separating from gas? I remember it back in the days of 30w mixed with gas but with modern oils it’s new to me. I’m seeing bubbles of oil when I push the bowl vent on a bing carb.

It separates from e85 for sure

Re: Two stroke oil gas separating

Oil is miscible in gas, that would be like having kool-aid separate. You probably have water in your gas, either from ethanol or just need to clean your tank

Re: Two stroke oil gas separating

I agree with Graham, visible bubbles = water

Yes because water separates in gasoline.

It wouldnt seperate within 2 weeks. You can see air bubbles in tbe line after a ride, thats pretty normal.

What do you mean you mixed it without water? If you bought fuel from a standard pump, even if it's not e-85 it probably has some small portion of alcohol in it for polution control reasons. That Alcohol portion is hydroscopic. That means it collects water out of the atmosphere. It could be a fuel can that isn't sealed that breaths ever day as temps up down - night day.

I am running only pure gasoline. A station here in Ohio has it. Blue handle pump. It's 25% more expensive but I didn't have to tear down any carbs this spring when I fired up the peds. My chainsaw started right up. Anything I have that sits for periods without use does not get any ethanol containing fuel.

Take all that gas and start blending it through the lawn mower or in the car. Won't hurt a thing. Figure out who in town as straight gas available and buy that. Buying "race gas" will achieve the same purpose as it never contains alcohol for reasons of getting through fuel tec.

No bongs but I always wondered what was in that pipe and why he was so happy all the time.
