I am in Eastern Pennsylvania. I have a 1957 Peugeot Moped. I thought I was going to restore it myself, but after many years of never getting around to it, I'd like to have it done. Can anyone recommend a shop or individual? Within driving distance (eastern PA, NE, DE)?
Looking for someone to restore my moped
Re: Looking for someone to restore my moped
Do you mean a full showroom condition restoration or a mechanical restoration.
Re: Looking for someone to restore my moped
Not showroom quality. Not even concerned about original colors matching. Just cleaned up, and mechanically sound. I'd really like to be able to ride it a mile or so to the local store.
Re: Looking for someone to restore my moped
Agree with just cleaned up . That original look is gorgeous. No new paint please!!!
Re: Looking for someone to restore my moped
I'm okay with keeping original as much as possible. Any recommendations on someone that can fix it up for me?
Re: Looking for someone to restore my moped
does the motor turn over? im thinking you might be able to send the motor to someone to rebuild and just clean your tank. Just a possibility.

Re: Looking for someone to restore my moped
Does anyone know where I can get a service manual for this type written in English? I'd like to restore mine if I can find a service manual. If there isn't one, then I'll sell it.
thanks for all and any help and suggestions.

AFAIK; there is no service manual translated to english, just the french one kicking around. These bb's are so damn close to every other peugeot that it shouldn't be super hard for you to rebuild yours. I just rebuilt this peugeot engine for Mr. Metz and it was as easy as any other peugeot.
If you have a clutch like the one pictured above; I'd say that's the biggest worry. That has cast iron powder inside and used that to engage a friction disc creating an automatic clutch. Crazy cool tech they only used for 2 years before switching to something more like the 102 clutches. PM me if you have any questions, I will gladly answer and send pics of whatever I can.
