Dating a French bike - so get a wicker basket, baguette, red wine, radishes, some sausage thing, mystery meat pate, and some stinky cheese. Wear your barret and a striped shirt, a cheesey thin mustache for the perfect look and talk in a frenchie accent...

Look on the bowl of the Gurtner carburetor - it will be stamped D12G-724 x 00/00 - D12 being the bore of 12mm, G being gauche or left bore, 724 is model number, x is the production line, 00/00 is month and year of production. Accurate if it is original carb. (edited)

According to the seller we purchased it from, it's a 1974. They're not always correct though so I'd cross check that against the info Rebel Moby posted.

Its a 1973 then, dealers often would draw up docs for a bike based on the year sold, not the manufacture year of the bike.
