Lifan 125 conversion... Electrical

Put in a lifan 125...changed everything to 12 volt... But the headlight is 6 volt(original much better than any plastic sh$# from Thailand. So I want to reduce the volts just to the headlight. Is this doable?

Re: Lifan 125 conversion... Electrical

Should be, or maybe just find a 12 led or sealed beam that will fit, I don't know much about electrical, but damn what a cool bike? Slam shift? I bet it flies, not normally into lifan swaps, but this looks to be really nice, and I love the Atomic green paint with the whitewalls! Specs on the bike?

A DC step down is not ideal. Just run a 12v variety bulb.

is there one that fits in my bucket...had the plastichrome one and hated the look

Re: Lifan 125 conversion... Electrical

you need a 6v regulator so you can use your stock headlight. no big deal,

Re: Lifan 125 conversion... Electrical

4.5 inches bulb is PAR36 trade size, look for a 12V low watt consumption bulb in that size. If you have the regulator/rectifier and battery from the Lifan setup then go for LED ike this HomeDepot one

Rebel has the ticket as always... get a new bulb you should be fine. I did not know what I was going to see when I pumped this thread but I was presently surprised.

Not a fan of Lifan swaps but this one looks fun.
