Anyone tried these on dull paint?

Re: Dull paint

Moped Lar (OFMC) /

Nope I wouldn’t use that on my bikes or car’s paint. I’ve always used rubbing compound for severely weathered paint or polishing compound for mild to moderately weathered paint.

Re: Dull paint

theres only just only one way to find out;

try it on the hood of your car first

Re: Dull paint

I would imagine using that on the paint of a moped would create an effect similar to using steel wool in place of a loofah in the shower... painful and you’ll probably regret the idea later.

I really like the results I’ve gotten from Turtle Wax’s waterless spray wash, but you gotta make sure the surface is relatively dirt and grime free before using it. It’s brightened the original red paint on my G3 and creates a nice luster that looks restored but not highly polished. I just spray it on directly and then wipe it down with a microfiber towel. Easy peasy.

Re: Dull paint

Okay rubbing compound & turtle wax. Thanks

Re: Dull paint

If the paint has a fade , you might try Scratch Out . Helps remove oxidation .

After another wash , I'd do a decent wax to help the finish last a bit longer .

Re: Dull paint

Those magic erasers are basically a fine sanding pad, probably the equivalent to wet sanding with 3000 paper. I wouldn't really recommend using them on paint.

Re: Dull paint

Magic Eraser is excellent for dulled plastic light lenses though.
