Re: Awesome 1950 Garelli Mosquito!

i picked up a couple of garellis with this same motor setup, friction drive but the wheels are 16". i guess mines r faster at 17 mph. cool thing is the points run off a cam offsetting the whole thing so you can adjust/replace points easily.

Roughly $1000 overpriced, but nice.

I think the price is fair if you keep in perspective that people are paying $1500 for Magdumbs. This is over 25 years older and far rarer

Re: Awesome 1950 Garelli Mosquito!

It's just a regular woman's bicycle with a garelli mosquito attached to it. Both those things are far from rare.

Re: Awesome 1950 Garelli Mosquito!

Doesn't matter, it's just north of LA.

You could park that as a consignment in a high end car dealer and someone will buy it.

They are here, especially in nice shape/running. I would love it, but that money is out of the question for me, for something like that.

Re: Awesome 1950 Garelli Mosquito!

I have two I'd be happy to sell in Atlanta.

What would you ask for one like that?

All things considered , about 1700 bucks . A couple hundred to pay off Tyler . LOL ... JK . I have no affiliation with DOS Cycles . ;) (edited)

Re: Awesome 1950 Garelli Mosquito!

You can have my garelli when you pry it from my cold dead hands

Re: Awesome 1950 Garelli Mosquito!

Or give me money. That’s works also.

That Georgia peach is nice but is over 30 years newer.

The original bike posted is VERY rare in the US. Bas, maybe plenty around in the low countries, but they were never imported here by any dealers. Any that came were brought by someone themselves which was an expensive and time consuming proposition. That being said, almost none.

As usual, apples are being compared to pomegranates

DOS seems to have two so there have to be more around. In the 50's this continent was full of American soldiers and the Mosquito was one of the cheapest vehicles available so i imagine quite a few were shipped.

Also at that price it's cheaper to buy one here and ship it even now.

Re: Awesome 1950 Garelli Mosquito!

This is what 1,900€ worth of Garelli Mosquito will buy you here at the moment. (A 1962 model)
