The shittiest bikes always run best, prove me wrong

Just got this junk slapped together out of completely used parts, 0 dollars spent and it runs great! Pops right off with the smallest kick and for only being a stock top end it runs pretty damn good. That being said, why is it always the turd ass bikes or even cars that run the best? Shitbox nation

Facts haha, didnt even check timing or jets and it fires up no problem and runs great. Go figure.

If you get bored with it I'd love to buy it along with the parts bike in Feburary.

For sure, I'll let you know. Btw I had planned on just giving you the wheel for free. Rather them go to someone who can use them.

Re: The shittiest bikes always run best, prove me wrong

I was just before kicking a columbia commuter in the head but like your thing ..it does nooooo wrongs ..most reliable and most ugly one i own.infact the guy i got it from had started taking parts off and i just one day decided to see if the motor would run ..runs perfect ride perfect, brakes work..can't bring myself to do it in.i have decided to either tear down and paint it ir do the thing of smoothing the rust and clear coat it..yours looks almost showroom compared to mine (edited)

Re: The shittiest bikes always run best, prove me wrong

Guzman the best shitty bike out there the gila on it has been seized so many times and it only has a 18mm carb but it rips like all hell and super sketchy

Re: The shittiest bikes always run best, prove me wrong

Probably Fred /

Yeah I understand what you're talking about!

But Most my bikes I got with less than a few hundred miles on them unless I got them for free, puchs, tomos, Italian, sachs too could be on a side of the house for 30-40 years and after you service the magneto and clean the carburetor they go, Actually derbi too but for me Maybe 150 puchs I either had or worked on they had the biggest percentage of working after sitting for 35-40 years out in the elements with a plastic bag over part of them maybe if I was lucky,

Belt drive French bikes, hobbits, Vespa and any other exposed belt drive moped nope!

30 years unprotected on the side of the house here in the rust belt they all were toast and needed full rebuild,

I did have a red Vespa grande for a short while that was between two garages with a half a tarp over it for 20 years that after carb cleaning ran good, with good pick up @ 31mph stock though the seat was so saturated from sitting where rain and snow collected even months afterwards your ass/pants would get wet,

Re: The shittiest bikes always run best, prove me wrong

New thyristor, carb clean and old Jawas always run. Clutches? Well...

Re: The shittiest bikes always run best, prove me wrong

The tomos I gave away was same story, out in the weather for years, cleaned the carb and rode it till I gave it to a friend who rode it until we recently built the engine because of a loose wrist pin bushing. Keep the turds flowing.

Re: The shittiest bikes always run best, prove me wrong

I have a pretty much stock puch, I payed a 100 bucks. I didn’t do much, new cables , carb clean , spark plug, it Has 8,000+ miles & still manages the biggest hills like a fucking boss never making me pedal and never brakes down (knock on wood)

It kinda confuse me becuase the top speed is 36mph. I think the guy before me did some tuning because it rips and I did nothing to it.

It’s a fun bike, the mystery of why it runs so good baffles me & I’m happy to own it.

Like that perfect stock daily commuter with a slight tune just waiting for me in the dark.

Isn't there another rule in the same category where the greasy-haired drug addict always gets the hot girl?

Add it will almost always scream like a raped ape right before the hard seize. Be like wow this really has pick-up I never seen it run so well.... Then either the clutch detotnates or the wheel locks doin 43 mph...

This rule applies to vws as well. Driving along like fuck me this thing is running great! And then the catastrophic failure happens.

I had a batavus with just the right amount of gasket leak. Seal leak fallen jet/Wayne mod carb airleak. Korean guy modded dogleg stock pipe and that and that started the fall off giving the iron cylinder more air on the downstroke and the mix was just right I mean you couldn't set it like that and then I was going oh jeez it was like 50 and I came to a yellow light and instead of running right through it I did a quick stop and the moment the bike went to idle it went KERUNKKKK.....

I had to do tho statue of liberty play on it. But the Cyl was shot rebored the Cyl to fit a chopped rd60 into it. Too big BTW the intake grooves on an A cyl make it too thin the c & d ones might work with extra care. It got a cracked skirt I drilled it and ni/fe welded it I still don't like it I could give it a good hone I am too afeared for my crank/clutch to risk it's life...

Re: The shittiest bikes always run best, prove me wrong

New pipe, well when I say new I mean new to the bike. Had a couple beat ass tomos biturbo pipes with no mufflers laying around. Cut in four places and reworked to fit the puch. Racepipe! Fucker sounds mean, maybe gonna add a little stinger on the end for more badassness.

I just refinished a 78 Columba Commuter. It too runs excellent but I rebuilt the motor and it has a new clutch. Powder coated the bike and rims.

Grime-style is the best style but you need to give grammas trike seat back and skip the top tank :)

Yeah the seat is atrocious but it's the only one I had laying around. Need to maybe build a cafe style seat for it.
