Who's timing advice should i trust? :)

So im gonna adjust the timing on my puch maxi e50.

youtube says 17mm before TDC.

Some sites say around 12mm before TDC

And this is the wierd thing, here in denmark, a puch maxi experts club say 1.8 mm before TDC? Thats a pretty big difference from 17mm...

who shall i trust?...

Don't have Puch's, but if I did I would get the service manual and set to stock specs, if it is a stock bike. It's around, (the manual) maybe someone can link you to it.

The first two numbers are describing flywheel rotation timing (listed in mm as Puch flywheels are 360mm, so 1mm in rotation = one degree), the last describes timing via piston placement, a la a timing tool.

12mm is close to stock timing, while 17mm is more-so in line with a mild kit and pipe motor.

Oh! Of course, now it all makes sense. Thanks for the help!

If you search “ Puch Timing” in the wiki tab, you’ll find a good write up.
