Gleaming the Cube!

Re: name that moped - name that movie - name the driver -

one of the bad guys in gleaming the cube rode an SRX250, that was one of my first motorcycles and really cool to see. another guy had the gpz550 which remains a dreambike of mine

Nice little bike . I did a road trip back in the mid '80s , from West Michigan to Maine and back , on one I borrowed from My boss . Never had a worry . ;)

Re: name that moped - name that movie - name the driver -

Ive had 2 seca XJ550's, one was my steady bike for years, took that on lots of trips, some real long trips, 1500mi, I actually sold it to joey P last fall, he's on here, he rode it back to DC, that's a solid 400

but everyone says for as great as the XJ550 is, the GPZ is just slightly better in all regards, a little bit more power, a twin front disk for better braking, better suspension and slightly lighter. just in every way a little bit better ad I really really enjoyed riding that size and range and era of bike - leaves me wishing for the gpz550 often

sorry to derail hah, just always what gleaming the cube leaves me thinking of

I had a firecracker red GPZ 550 back in 1985 , my buddy crashed it :(

He traded me his '69 Dodge Dart for it

Here's one name all the bikes in this 9.50 time Mark.

He gets paid to do this or does he pay to do this that is the?

Re: name that moped - name that movie - name the driver -

Holy shitballs....that is amazing driving....I'm in awe. The only bike I could identify was a Passport on the end of the row of bikes, that guy has the best job in the world, I miss having reflexes like that, I thought I was a bad ass at 16 pulling 4 wheel drifts in a station wagon...lol, anyone of those cars would kill me in a heartbeat today, rock on man! I wonder if he has tunes in his helmet? :) I'm very glad I know I'm way to slow and uncoordinated to attempt this now, as a very real part of me wants to....but ha ha, never gonna happen. Hit it hard young man, hit it hard. My hat is off to you.

Re: name that moped - name that movie - name the driver -

I think ken block kinda just got into it. like he was a skater and like any pro athlete, if you wanna stay relevant and paid you get into business. he was on of the founders of DC shoes, and i think just sold the shares and decided "well, im gonna drift shit." and when you have time and money and ambition and balls, you really kinda can just do anything. just went to rally school, spent a shitload of time doing it, and did it. in the early gymkhana videos he'd only been doing it for a few years.

seems like a monster douchebro tho. oh well

Re: name that moped - name that movie - name the driver -

I just watched the movie Wolfen (1981 starring Robert Finney about wolf aattacks in the Bronx) and there is a scene where he steps out into the street, and there is a guy is trying to pedal a Puch Magnum, and falls right over. Priceless.
