That thing is fresh! Just do a smaller maxi seat. Since you hacked the post you can do a spring one? Irk brown would be cool.

Hack up a chopper seat and add your own springs. Work's great for rigid rear.

I applaud anyone who takes the time to repaint and polish mopeds.

Re: Seat for my wife's Darkwing Duck bike

def somethin sprung or well cushioned. for real. that aesthetic might be weird with a solo bobber/spring thing but it might be the best fit functionally

do not use a bicycle saddle. do not do the old school brooks leather saddle thing. nope.

Looks great! Yeah that maxi seat pan ^^ would be nice, even better with springs. Good ideaR

Re: Seat for my wife's Darkwing Duck bike

Thanks for all the replies!! Im thinking of going chopper style and customize it to the bike. Definitely going to put some springs for some bouncy bounce while im at it so she's not riding a bull...

Re: Seat for my wife's Darkwing Duck bike

Kinda like this, but I'm going to make my own.

That's a lot like my Simplex seat . Very comfy .

Re: Seat for my wife's Darkwing Duck bike

Let's get dangerous!

Re: Seat for my wife's Darkwing Duck bike

Hell yeah! I like the bucket look. She's really tall so proportion wise it looks better with a really low profile seat.

Re: Seat for my wife's Darkwing Duck bike

Maybe hinge at the seat front and spring to the rear frame cross-member .

My Simplex is set up a bit different with a long spring from the frame neck .

Re: Seat for my wife's Darkwing Duck bike

The angled area right behind the post is where I plan on some springs, I like the look of that simplex though. Clean

That's the rear frame cross-member . ;)

And , Thanks . It does live up to it's name .

Re: Seat for my wife's Darkwing Duck bike

Dually noted :) Thanks for all the input guys, Ill follow up with a pic when its done!

Re: Seat for my wife's Darkwing Duck bike

The time for deciding on a seat is before you paint and polish. The secret to sucessfull builds is Mock up, mock up, mock up.

What you have there is like an oil well with no flange to attach a valve.

Stand back it could come on any minute!!

Re: Seat for my wife's Darkwing Duck bike

Welp this is the end result, I built the taillight into the seat. My wife covered the old plastic cover with vinyl and we called it a day Shes pleased and im happy for that :)

Is there any padding?

I cant imagine buying a moped and not stripping it down to every part for cleaning and polish. thats half the fun.

Its nice to know you've touched and seen every crevice for sure ;)

Re: Seat for my wife's Darkwing Duck bike

Do you like your wife? I dunno if I would β€œgift” a rigid bike to someone I liked. After loaning my free spirit out on 3 separate occasions and it getting crashed every single one I decided it wasn’t a good idea anymore. At least if I wanted to keep my friends alive that is.

I dont know man, I took it for a cruise to make sure it was gravy, she hopped on afterwards and rode no prob to each there own I guess?

Re: Seat for my wife's Darkwing Duck bike

It’s probably fine for cruising the burbs, but a small rock on the road or a pot hole will put you down if you don’t see it coming. I was mostly kidding, just be careful with fast rigids.

Re: Seat for my wife's Darkwing Duck bike

I smell what you're stepping in, thanks for the advice for sure!! She is careful, I mostly kitted it so she can rip the hills going up to my house no probs. It does just that now..lol We live in a little town in Colorado so we just wanna cruise. I'll definitely let her know though. Thanks again!

Re: Seat for my wife's Darkwing Duck bike

Looks good, be nice and put a rear fender on it! Love the paint scheme!

And , maybe spike the tires for when you ride above the tree line . ;)

Thank you!!

Im kinda figuring out how I want the fender, I know I'm going to chop it...but I really don't wanna chop a 78' fender ..lol so im pondering on making my own, just to cover her booty and the engine :) same with the front fender....

I'm just letting my hands rest for a few days and let her enjoy riding it for a bit in nice weather.
