One daily runner and 5 bikes in boxes.

I used to have a $200 spending limit on a moped, but now that I have 17 (2 in boxes), I've reduced my limit to $100, and I still find them. I cannot resist a $100 moped, no matter what.

My last two $100 bikes,

Lol. Sounds familiar. It does make them irresistible, <$100. Exactly how I got to 15. Can’t seem to be able to beat em off with a stick sometimes. My heating oil delivery guy wants to give me a Tomos for $0. Okay, but is that your best price?

Ya just 40-15 years ago I used to get 125-400cc jap enduro bikes for 100-500$ Every week if I wanted too, buing by checking the newspaper ads local garage sales word-of-mouth, but the problem was they changed insurance laws so how the hell can I have 10 motorcycles and have to pay insurance every single bike each month so I switched to Moped‘s that didn’t have these bullshit laws!

Re: The one moped guy

I want to see a 20+ moped guy thread with pictures.

I am trying to quit but cold turkey is too much. I am so tempted to bring my moped world full circle by purchasing the very 1rst moped I ever seen when I was 9 my neighbor had a white motoguzzi robin I know where it is and who has it...

Re: The one moped guy

What happens when you have a $100 limit, and a cherry one of your favorite model in showroom condition with 5 miles on the odometer finds you, and the price is $600 firm?

I can’t think of a moped I would pay $600 for. I’d walk away. It’s just mopeds.

Besides, a bike with only five miles has no history, no past, no story. I like getting em a little rough for the wear, cast aside when their life could not be brought back by a few kicks of the pedal. Forgotten until I rediscover them and rescue them, and then mechanically rebuild them, leaving their scars and preserving their past.

Re: The one moped guy

^What if it was a mint magnum Ltd or Peugeot tsm? Hell even a nice revival is totally worth 600.

I honestly don’t know if I would or not. Maybe, for resale purposes. But worth is subjective, and I find the value of mopeds deeper than the monetary value. For me, it’s a hobby that I enjoy, which ads value to my life. Personally, I would rather spend the $600 on a handful of bikes that I can spend my free time bringing back to glory. I like the transformation. I would go higher than $100 for a top tank, especially a TSM. It’s my favorite of all at the moment. But I don’t think I’d spend $600.

But maybe; tempt me!

It's cool to see all the responses, in a way I actually have 2 bikes because I have my Puch and I got my wife an Express, which I have to repair and maintain; I finally got them both running today at the same time and we went for a ride today, it was awesome!

I'd pass. No moped is worth $600 to me. I already have my dream ped, that I paid $200 for, resto started,

Re: The one moped guy

^Very nice! I'v never paid more than $200 either, but would def drop $600.00 on a complete TSM

Re: The one moped guy

Gotta disagree on the `no moped is worth 600' thing. I'd give 600 for any decent StreetMate or Sebring in great shape.

A lot of used mopeds will bring 600 bucks today.

Re: The one moped guy

I second this. ^

Re: The one moped guy

I might take 600 bucks for my FA50 , but , there's no way I'd pay that much .

We have to remember that value , like beauty , is in the eye of the beholder . ;)
