I'm told the vin plate just says
Yellow - 1979- 286295
Blue 1980- 326281
I would run away from anything Jawa as fast as you can.
why is that????
They are Czech. Not that that is inherently bad, but they are somewhat obscure. Unreliable. Difficult to tune. Not a lot of available parts. They’re just kinda junky. Not quality, compared to other brands. Thyristor!
But some on here are fans of them I think.
do u have any idea what model these are?
RUN and get a Tomos or Morini/Minarelli powered moped.
Invite some friends over and have a bonfire.
Do you love a challenge? Then buy them and prove all these people wrong.
But u won't
I have 6 of these bikes. They're temperamental but simple. As those bikes sit I wouldn't pay more than $30-40/bike
I'd buy them. I've been pretty surprised by supposedly junk bikes before.

Then you've never had a Jawa. They're not terrible but they're not great either
“The ford taurus of mopeds“, I once read someone commenting about jawa.
i’d maybe pay 100 for the pair. Not easy to find parts, very slow and for whatever reason (in new england atleast) they 90% of the time are rusty as hell.
But if you like a challenge...

I disagree with you on that, if you have one of the 30 mph models they haul ass. Stock my XJ30 does like 35 with me on it
Is the long seat stock? Are they supposed to have a long or a short seat????
Long seats were a dealer option. These have horrible electrics. The rest is mediocre at best except for the Jawa long seat which is actually slightly better than average. Jawas are typical quality of any Soviet bloc products of the era. Definitely below Western standards.
