I don’t have any guesses, but it’s got to be Italian, right?
I think it's a jawa motor in an Italian bike. Everything is cev except motor domino levers ECT
Ducati
Lol I don't think it's Ducati
Engine looks like an Aermacchi
And the styling is like early Lambretta mini scoots...
Says "oil" in Czech on side but all components Italian
Oooooohh 3 speed.
That's pretty dope
I wonder why they used a jawa engine. I have an Italjet KitKat and it's a blast
Oooh Shifty! That'll be fun! I wouldn't off road that. Not sure if I'd like doing 45 on something that short though...
fuck that's cool.
5hp, 45mph on a 3 speed 50 on a street legal minibike with lights? sign me right the fuck up.
Roma was the US importer. Then they slapped their name on it. Common practice back then. We had an Italjet similar to that back in the early 80's. Same engine. It was fast for a mini bike, but I don't think it went 45. Automatic shift, too. No clutch.
It all comes full circle. Have a shot of the tool box up close? Bet this toolbox is the same one since the ad says they made this mini-trail in red, blue and green.

So I have the low pipe Roma. it is a Jawa motor, same as the Type 21 scooter. They put Jawa motors on them to make them price competitive with American minibikes. The full on Italian ones went for high $300s and were nearly double what a minibike went for back then. So they tried meeting in the middle. Clearly not too many sold. I need a tool box cover for mine, it is missing. Good luck on that. The high pipe one claims 45mph with a Dellorto 14.14. Notice on the low pipe ad, they claim 50mph. That is because that model (the one I have) has the same Jawa 19mm carb as found on the type 21. And yes they do 50mph which is terrifying on 10" wheels.
And yes I know this is a year and 3 month old thread, but I am just glad to see another one, they don't come up often
That bike is sick. I knew it was Italian before Bairds comment. That bike is Just to cool and funky.
aw man, missing the buddy strap on the seat!
