Just got back from a ride. Finally done tuning!

Angry Hipster /

Nothing special, I just wanted to post something positive.

I split the case and installed new bearings, honed a stock Alu series cylinder and installed it with new rings.

1.5 pipe and intake, no snorkel.

I tried a 14mm Bing but didn't like it so now I'm running a 12mm with a 2.22/65 main/ needle clip at the top.

After lots of experimenting this setup seems to be the best so far.

The weather was 78F and I rode to the store to pick up some energy drinks.

I've done so much work on the bike and this was the first time I took it out to actually do something.

Just thought I'd share.

Thanks. I got it for free off Facebook believe it or not. I think it has some potential to be an interesting moped hauler.

Cool 123 in the Backgrond? is it a Wagon? Diesel?

It's a 5 cylinder turbo diesel sedan. The owners thought it was done for at 300k miles when the alternator locked up and the engine wouldn't spin over.

I cut the belt, got some new fuel into it and it started right up. When I get the chance I'll install another alternator and see how roadworthy it is.

I am a fan of GM 425,472,500 Cadillacs and 3800s and Dodge slant 6 engines but these w123 diesels are quickly earning my respect!!

The W123 & W124 series (diesels especially) are the best Mercedes ever built. The current slogan "the best or nothing" really applies to those Mercedes, not the junk they are producing now. Just keep on top of any rust that develops.

Re: Just got back from a ride. Finally done tuning!

W123 are great. I dailied a 300TD for two years. I didn’t keep on top of the rust, among other things. (edited)

I'm sad to report mine is a rust bucket. Nothing left except to see if it's still roadworthy and drive it until it falls apart.

It's structurally sound, but the body has some decent holes and the hood should probably be replaced.

Idk, it's just kind of a toy that I picked up for free. But I'm glad I did because it seems like another cool hobby.

Very cool! If you want to get a little bit more Power later on, deactivate the ALDA and Block of the EGR
