Need help identifying my moped and finding parts.

Hi guys new to the forum this is my first post. So years ago my little brother found an old moped that had been sitting close to 20 years he bought the thing off this old guy and it's been sitting at my dad's for about 6 years now. I drug it out and brought it home the other day having no idea what it was. So far I think it's either a Motobecane or a mobelette. Not sure if there's a difference. It says Speciale 98 on the side and has a motorcycle gas tank unlike most mopeds it seems. I think it's mid 60s I would like to get it going again and would love to know where I can get parts. The engine is free but it needs everything else Thanks! Tim

Very nice indeed - Motobecane SP98

Leave the body exactly like that, only fix the motor. That patina and seat repair are spot on.

yeah wow that is a pretty great moped, one of the best. be gentle as lots of parts are irreplaceable or have to be sourced from europe
